About Countstead
Countstead is an inventory app for iPhone and iPad, made and supported by one developer.
Who makes Countstead
I’m Imdad Ismail, a software developer in Sri Lanka. I’ve been building software for more than ten years, in transport, food, and inventory and order systems for multinational companies. I run Spacewa.lk, a software development agency, and I design, build, and support Countstead. The Spacewa.lk credit at the bottom of each page refers to that agency.
Countstead is published on the App Store under my name. When you email about the app, I’m the one who reads it.
What Countstead is for
Countstead is for small businesses that have outgrown a spreadsheet but don’t need a full business system: makers, market stalls, small shops, and food businesses. It records stock coming in and going out, counts, and transfers between locations, and keeps every change in its history. A correction is added as a new entry, so the original stays.
It works offline, and local use needs no account. Your inventory stays on your device unless you turn on cloud sync, which is part of Countstead Pro. Countstead has been on the App Store since September 2026, in nine languages.
How this site is written
Every page describes the version of Countstead on the App Store. Before a page goes live, what it says about the app is checked against that version, and anything not yet released is left out.
Guides use made-up items and quantities in their examples, link to the public sources they rely on, and show the date they last changed. Pages that compare Countstead with another app say where each fact about that app came from and when it was checked.
Corrections
If something on this site doesn’t match what you see in the app, or a fact about another app is out of date, email [email protected]. I correct confirmed mistakes and update the page’s date when I do.
